The soils are more sandy so rain drains through, it doesn’t fill the citrus with water that then drown out the sugars.
On top of that the warm weather and clear skies mean the trees also get enough sun to develop the sugars in the citrus. Resulting in dense sweet fruit.
An extremely versatile veggie that’s good for any meal of the day. Due to the large size and rich flavour, you could also grill them on the BBQ.
